Golf has made a huge impact among UAE sports-enthusiasts over the years. Popularity of the sport is immense in the UAE when compared to other Middle Eastern countries. In fact, half of the available golf courses in the Gulf region are in the UAE, considering the fact that the golfing industry started off in some other Middle Eastern country. Presently, Golfing industry has the highest patronage in Dubai, followed by Abu Dhabi. Now, Abu Dhabi is also trying to catch up with its UAE counterpart by establishing itself as a well-recognized golfing destination. In Dubai, between 270,000 and 300,000 rounds are played annually.
