The highly anticipated Middle East International Film Festival 2009 returns to Abu Dhabi for a third year in October and has opened its doors to volunteer applications. Volunteering gives residents of the Emirate and the UAE the opportunity to experience films through active participation and firsthand exposure while working in one of the largest emerging cultural centers in the world, Abu Dhabi.
Volunteering at MEIFF 09 is an excellent opportunity to connect to the Abu Dhabi film and cultural scene while also enjoying film screenings and exclusive events. Volunteers will be entitled to tickets to select film screenings, events, participation certificates and an unforgettable experience in a world class film festival.
MEIFF 09 volunteer applications are open to outgoing, dynamic people over the age of 15 who are fluent in English. Tasks required include assisting guests, ushering, registration and pre- and post- festival administrative work, with the option of either volunteering full-time or part-time. Applicants fluent in more than one language, especially Arabic, will be strongly considered.
Volunteer applications are available online at http://www.meiff.com/get-involved/. If accepted, volunteers will attend an orientation session where they will receive detailed information about relevant duties and training. Presented by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), MEIFF 09 celebrates cinema in all its forms by creating a vibrant forum for storytellers from the Middle East and around the world. |
